Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tbsp recado
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Sliced plantains (fried)
  • Burger buns

Instructions

Mix ground beef with thyme, recado, onion, salt, and pepper.

Form patties and grill until done.

Top with fried plantains, lettuce, and mayo.

Serve on toasted buns.

Special Twist

Swap beef for ground chicken or pork for variation.

Chef Joe's Tips

Brush the patties with a bit of coconut oil before grilling. Add a slice of cheese and habanero sauce for that Belize kick.
